The i-gel is the innovative second generation supraglottic airway device from Intersurgical. The first major development since the laryngeal mask airway, i-gel has changed the face of airway management and is now widely used in anaesthesia and resuscitation across the globe. Made from a medical grade thermoplastic elastomer, i-gel has been designed to create a non-inflatable, anatomical seal of the pharyngeal, laryngeal and perilaryngeal structures whilst avoiding compression trauma. Launched in 2007 after years of extensive research and development, i-gel now has an established reputation in anaesthesia with three adultand fourpaediatric sizes in the range, ideal for use with patient weights between 2-90+kg. StarMed Ventumask - For CPAP therapy with Venturi flow driver and adjustable PEEP valve StarMed Ventumask is a unique design for CPAP therapy that is simply activated by connecting to an appropriate oxygen supply. It can be used in a hospital environment or pre-hospital use, for example in an ambulance.

What is CPAP?
Constant Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) is used to administer fresh gas to the patient through the entire respiratory cycle and can be given to a spontaneously breathing patient using a face mask, or an endotracheal tube.

The purpose of CPAP is to increase Functional Residual Capacity (FRC), increase blood oxygenation and reduce
patient 'Work of Breathing (WOB). CPAP is generally used:
- when oxygen alone will not allow the patient to maintain an adequate PaO2 level
- to mobilise secretions that have built up
- to treat atalectasis.
It is also used as a treatment in spontaneously breathing patients or as an option when weaning a patient from the
ventilator.

The Mapleson Circuit Systems are used for the delivery of oxygen and anaesthetic agents and the removal of carbon dioxide during general anaesthesia. Components include breathing tube, adjustable pressure limiting valve, reservoir bag, fresh gas flow and patient connection.
